Kay's Guide to a Day in Philadelphia

This past weekend, I visited Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the first time to attend Post Malone's Big Ass Stadium Tour with my mom, and it was absolutely incredible.
Since Philadelphia is roughly 4 hours from Richmond, Virginia, we decided to book a hotel and spend Sunday exploring Philly!
Highlights
Independence Hall is a significant historic building where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were discussed, approved, and signed. It serves as the focal point of Independence National Historical Park.
We began our morning here, but unfortunately, we were only able to see it from the outside since the tickets were sold out.

We were there Memorial Day Weekend, so I am not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.
The Liberty Bell is a significant symbol of American freedom and independence. It was originally a bell for the Pennsylvania State House, and its famous inscription, "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof," resonated with the nation's fight for independence and the abolitionist movement.
The Liberty Bell is free to see in a museum just outside of the Independence Hall. We waited in line for about 15 minutes, which honestly wasn't too bad and definitely worth it. You can walk right up to it and take a picture which is super cool!
Angelo's Pizzeria is a significant food destination in Philadelphia, particularly within the South Philly neighborhood, known for its high-quality, authentic pizza and cheesesteaks.
I posted a question box on my Instagram, asking for suggestions on where to find the best Philly cheesesteak, because visiting Philly without trying one is unthinkable. This spot was the most recommended, and it truly lived up to the hype.
We waited in a long line that honestly went super quick and then waited about a hour or so for our food, but I will say it was the best cheesesteak I have ever eaten!!
BoxBar Philly is an adorable boutique featuring a charm bar! Charm bracelets, necklaces, and charm bags are currently very trendy. For those unfamiliar, a charm bar is a collection of individual charms that can be used to customize jewelry, such as necklaces or bracelets. You select your own charms and chain to make your own, personalized piece. They provide an enjoyable and interactive experience for designing custom jewelry.
I created my bracelet by using their vintage gold charms to craft a travel bracelet that symbolizes some of the places I've visited!
The girls working there were incredibly sweet and helpful! They asked me all about my trips and everything, which was really nice!

Rocky Balboa Statue
Are you a fan of the Rocky movies?
You're in luck! The stairs he runs up during his training are located just outside the Museum of Arts in Philadelphia.
Many people try to run them all as he did to get up to take a picture with his statue!
Honestly, I was surprised when my mom actually ran all the way to the top!
I personally have only seen bits and pieces of the Rocky movies (I know...crazy) but it was such a cool experience, now I feel like I need to go watch them all from start to finish!
Exploring Philadelphia was a fantastic experience, and although there was certainly more to explore, with just one day, I believe we managed to see and do everything we had hoped for. It was amazing to be able to check off another city on my travel list!
